Be careful when you tell your kids to sing out in choir

This is a fantastic performance by a particularly ardent little kid in a nativity choir.

The video is about 15 years old but was uploaded just a few months ago by the show-stealer's big sister. She writes in the YouTube comments…
Her hearing is fine.… She was just encouraged to sing as loudly as possible from our Mum.

  1. So, I guess you were sparing me by singing with your mouth closed.

  3. Haha. I have a kid who did this at around age 6, only not in a Christmas pageant, but every time in church when we sang his favorite hymn. Fortunately, everyone just smiled, managed to suppress outright laughter, and carried on until he got over that stage. Naturally, I was sometimes embarrassed, but once a certain venerable Russian church lady admonished me thus, after a service during which she'd seen me giving him a nudge and suggesting that he pipe down a bit: "Don't you shush him; don't you do it! Let him sing! He is worshiping God and God is pleased!" Let me add, this was in an Orthodox church--all liturgical and traditional all the time; no spontaneous DIY worship at all, ever.
